Our third menu features a delicious version of the all-American hamburger. Our entrée is made with extra-lean ground sirloin, savory with spices and herbs. Serve this with a delicious red potato salad and baked apples for dessert
1 1/2 pounds (720 g) ground sirloin
1 jalapeņo chile pepper, seeded and minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon crushed dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon crushed dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
6 sesame hamburger buns, split and toasted
thinly sliced red onion
thinly sliced tomato
1 1/2 cups (100 g) shredded lettuce
Light a grill or preheat the broiler.
In a medium bow, combine the ground sirloin, chile pepper, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, thyme, cumin, salt (if using), and pepper. Form into 6 round patties.
Grill or broil to desired doneness, about 3 minutes per side for medium rare. Serve on toasted buns, and top with red onion slices, sliced tomato, and some shredded lettuce.
