Beef and Onion Mix Recipe

Beef and Onion Mix Recipe – Per package:     568 calories (34% calories from fat), 20 g total fat (8 g saturated fat), 80 g protein, 12 g carbohydrates, 2 g dietary fiber, 28 mg cholesterol, 172 mg sodium

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds (720 g) lean ground sirloin
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Crumble the ground beef into a 3-quart microwave-safe casserole. Cover and cook for HIGH for 5 minutes. Stir to break up the meat. Drain the meat in a colander to remove any fat. Wipe out the microwave dish with paper towels.
  2. Return the beef to the casserole and stir in the onion and garlic. Divide the mixture into 2 portions. Refrigerate 1 for immediate use. Freeze the second portion for use within 3 months.
